Openhapp’s Deepcam is a cube plug and play security camera with optional motion detection triggered cloud recording. In this post, we show how to configure the deepcam cube camera step by step.
First, please don’t power on the camera.
Then we search for ‘mysnapcam’ in the iOS Apple Store or Google Play. Connect the smartphone to your home router, and launch the mysnapcam app. Create an account and login. In the screen below, I already have one camera online, and I would like to add a new camera. To add a new camera, press the ‘+’ sign:
Edit the name of the camera as below:
Now we move to the home page:
At this step, when the camera plays the ‘Successful Configuration’, please watch the LEDs on the back carefully. When the LED stops blinking and turns steady green, we can press ‘YES’ and move forward. The sound ‘successful configuration’ means the camera is connected to the router, but the router may not allocate IP address for it yet. When the LED turns steady, the camera gets the IP address. This process can take a while depends on the router.
After we process ‘YES’, the APP will look for the camera on the local network:
Once it found camera, and we move to the home page, we will be able to see the camera is online. However, we may not watch live video immediately as the camera is doing some setup from the cloud, and this process may take up to 15 minutes. Please quit and relaunch the APP, and unplug the camera’s power cable and plug again to do a hard reset of the camera after 15 minutes. Now we can watch the live video by pressing the camera icon!
Note: There is chance that during the ‘search for camera’ step, we cannot find the camera, instead of getting:
We get:
We need to reset camera by pressing the pin hole for a long time, first we will hear ‘reset device’, and then ‘ready for configuration’, then we need to remove the power plug and insert back to do a hard reset. We also need to remove the camera if it is already in the home page by clicking ‘things’:
We then start over again.
