The Smart Cat Feeder (SMAC) is the next generation of automatic cat feeders.
The device will be programmed to each individual cat through a touch interface at
the top of the feeder. The user will enter the type of food into the system as well
as add each individual cat. The animals will be able to access the food by means
of a RFID tag on their collar. When a cat walks up to the machine it will step on
a scale and instantly be weighed and recorded. Once the RFID tag is read, the
correct amount of food will be dispersed to be eaten. There will also be the option
for the owner to be notified by the machine if the food is low.
