Scratch has been evolved from 1.4 to 2.0, and now 2.0 has an offline edition. In this tutorial, we show how to use CuteDigi picoboard with scratch 2.0.

First we need to install CP2102 USB driver on Windows.

Before we plug in PicoBoard into the computer, we need to install USB driver first. The USB driver can be downloaded from SiLabs page.

Install the USB driver:

For windows8, please get the driver from: http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

After we plugin the PicoBoard, the computer will start to recognize it and create a new COM for it. We can check it by looking at the ‘Device Manager’:

The offline edition can be downloaded form scratch.mit.edu.

To enable picoboard, click ‘More blocks”

Click “Add an extension”

Select picoboard:

The got turns green to indicate that that picoboard is connected.
